LIGHTHOUSE INSURANCE SERVICES was established in 2000 by Mike Thomas. We are located in Gambrills, MD and proudly serve more than 1000 clients in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. The staff at Lighthouse Insurance Services takes pride in providing exceptional customer service.
We do NOT work for an insurance company; we work for you. We are an INDEPENDENT INSURANCE AGENCY. We work on your side when you have a loss and follow through to see that you get fair, prompt payment. We represent a carefully selected group of financially sound, reputable companies. We place your needs first in finding the company offering the best coverage at a competitive price. We also have a CPA in our office who offers Accounting and Tax services to individuals and businesses year around.

Meet Our Staff
Mike Thomas

Mike is the agency principal and brings almost 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He is a graduate of DeMatha Catholic High School. Mike is an avid Terps fan and graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He enjoys coaching his kids in a variety of sports and is the Co-Founder of "For The Kids, Inc", a charitable organization supporting local children suffering from a serious illness and in need of financial support. Through the annual charity golf tournament, the organization has donated over $100,000 to local families in need. Mike is an active member of The Knights of Columbus.
Cheryl "Cherie" Clark - Agent

Cheryl "Cherie" worked with Mike 10 years ago. When he started his own agency, she proceeded to advance her knowledge and education of marketing trends within other industries. She has coordinated and managed various marketing and communication endeavors, helping to build and develop marketing plans in both for profit and non-profit sectors.
Her vast experience in marketing, communication and branding has brought her full circle back working with Mike. She joined Lighthouse Insurance Services in November 2008. As well as being an insurance agent, she is responsible for the company's business communications, advertising and events.
In her spare time she also works for Ken’s Creative Kitchen, preparing food for events in the D.C. Metropolitan area. She a member of many local network groups and is also an avid costume designer and seamstress.
